Queen Seon Deok Episode 7 Recap

It would seem that fate is playing a huge part in the lives of Princess Cheonmyeong and Deok Man. Even if Deok Man is also a princess I specifically made this distinction between the two and will continue to refer to her as Deok Man without her rightful title in my recap until such time when her real identity is revealed.

Anyway, Deok Man’s life is hanging by a patch of weeds and the princess was trying to pull her up but she is just not that strong to do it. Eventually Deok Man fell into the water. She struggled and had a hard time going back up. Several scenes were playing into her mind as she kept on going deeper into the water. She recalled those times So Hwa saved her; once when she was still a baby and the that time in where she stabbed Chil Suk. This time she asked her mother to save her again one more time.

The next thing we see is So Hwa giving her a CPR. Deok Man was hallucinating. She thought it was her mother but in truth, it was Princess Cheonmyeong who dragged her out of the water and gave her the much-needed CPR or mouth to mouth resuscitation.

They were both happy that they survived. The sisters are bonding as they talked about the things that happened in their lives. Deok Man believed that it rained because of her faith and the princess asked her faith to whom. DM replied and said it’s her faith in her mother who saved her countless times in the past and who she believes continues to protect her. CM then asked her why is she looking for Munno. DM said that she needs to tell him that her mother is already dead and she wants to know who she really is.

As they try to tidy each other up, CM discovered that they share the same birth mark behind the ear and told DM that her father shares the same mark. Dm said that they must have been destined to meet. If they only knew what we viewers know, then we won’t have the drama, pabo!

Meanwhile, at the Yeo Rae Temple, Bo Jong and his Hwarang minions disguised as Ninjas went on to kill everyone on their path as they seek Munno. It was a complete massacre as dead monks can be found lying on the front yard but they failed to find Munno.

CM and Dm unknowingly stepped on that scene as they witness monks being murdered. Bo Jong was able to recognized CM. The twins tried running for safety as BJ and company pursues them. During the scuffle, CM recognized BJ as well. BJ tried killing them but they were saved by the other Hwarangs who came to retrieve the Princess as instructed by Kim Yong Chu.

As the twins were running, CM fell down the hill as BJ was shooting her with an arrow. Im Jong shot an arrow at BJ which made him stumbling down bringing Deok Man with him.

News of what happened in the temple reach the Palace. The King was shocked to learn of CM’s recent activites and even more angry at the fact that she is missing.

Mi Shil on the other hand was equally shocked about the fact the CM was in the very same temple that BJ and his minions was and also that Im Jong and his own group of Hwarangs were there. Naturally, Seol Won Rang is worried about his son’s safety and told Mi Shil that they need to do something about it.

MS was more concerned if CM recognized BJ and Seok Bum who is one of the leaders of the 10 elite Hwarang squads said that it would not be possible since BJ was wearing a mask.

The King was enraged about the whole thing and reprimanded Kim Yong Chu of doing things behind his back especially since her only daughter is at the very place where Ha Jong (MS other son) was sent with troops in two to get rid of the rebels/refugees. KYC said to the King that he will go there himself to make sure the princess is found.

However, the King has decided to personally go to Manno Fortress and get his daughter back. An adviser told him that it would not a good thing for him to go there personally but the King said he would not be a father who will just sit down while his daughter is missing.

MS arrived on the scene and told the King that since the situation calls for it, she will be accompanying the King in the journey. They were quite surprised in MS’s announcement and were quite curious and wary at the same time as to MS’s interest in the whole thing.

Deok Man woke up near the river and saw the injured BJ lying around. She checked him up since she heard him speak faintly. She then brought him to some hut and was trying to find someone or medicine to cure his injury. She was thinking that BJ is his link to Munno’s whereabouts.

Meanwhile, CM was found lying near some part of the river as well by the local Hwarangs – Dragon Flower Squad headed by Kim Yu Shin. When they search her pockets for identity, they found the very same gold ornament that Ju Bang stole from him. Naturally, the injured CM was imprisoned for questioning later on.

The King then arrived at Manno Fortress and was welcomed by Kim Seo Hyeon. He said that he has dispatched every available soldier to look for the princess. Mi Shil took advantage of the situation and reprimanded KSH for not being able to control the insurgents/refugees at Manno County. If something bad happened to the princess or if they will not be able to find her, she told the King it would only be natural that KSH take the blame for it.

As early as now, MS was instructing Seol Won Rang to find the next possible candidate for KSH’s position. MS said that they need to take advantage of the situation so that they can seize control of Manno as it is one of the most important county’s in their land. SWR was quite curious and was a little bit sarcastic to MS as he told her that it seems that MS is not that concern with the disappearance of BJ but she assures him that there is no mother in the world who will not be concern with a missing son and she told him that she already gave instructions to find him at all cost.

CM on the other hand woke up to find herself tied up and imprisoned although her wound was tended already. KYS was angry at her and suspected of her being in cahoots with Ju Bang because of the gold thingy was found in her pocket. It ended up on her because DM gave him her jacket to warm her up earlier on.

They argued. CM told KYS to bring him to Kim Seo Hyeon so he can confirm her identity.  KYS asked her who she was but CM told him that she will reveal only at the presence of KSY. KYS told her that they will fo to him after they finished their daily training.  CM was so annoyed as well as frustrated since the training was impossibly long.

BJ on the other hand, was running a fever and to make matter worse, blood was coming out of his mouth. DM knew that she needs to buy medicine so she can give proper treatment but she does not have money with her. She went to the market but no one wants to give her anything. There she met again with Ju Bang. She told him that she need her the gold thing that she gave him since he tricked her earlier. Ju Bang told her to leave him alone before he does something bad to her again but she still insisted since someone is hurt and could die.

Upon hearing about it, JB and GD went with DM to the hut where JB treated BJ. Apparently, JB knows something about injuries and medicines. While treating BJ, he notice the ring that BJ was wearing and so when he finish treating his wound, he told DM that they will be leaving and the treatment is some sort of payment for the gold thing that he took from her. DM agrees. When the two were about to leave, DM saw something in JB’s hand and immediately realized that they took BJ’s ring.

Later they all found out that soldiers were looking for the missing princess as the palace will reward the person who can find the princess. Seok Bum on the other hand gave specific instructions to his group to look for BJ as a reward will be given to whoever gets to him first. It was quite noticeable that the reward for the missing BJ is higher that the missing princess.

JB and GD heard Seok Bum’s instruction and so they planned their next action. They knew that those soldiers were looking for BJ as he fits the description that SB announced.

They made an arrangement to seek audience to the person in-charge of it and SB took them to meet Seol Won Rang. They were shown the gold reward and they agreed to meet somewhere so they can lead them to BJ.

Meanwhile, the princess still tied up but being escorted to meet Kim Seo Hyeon by his son KYS but as they were walking around the town, they saw a poster which says that their princess is missing and she was last seen wearing monk’s clothing. KYS immediately realizes that the girl tied up beside her is the princess herself.

They delivered her back to the King. KYS was quite apprehensive of the whole thing and was waiting nervously for a punishment. The king then asked to bring in KYS and realizes that he is Kim Seo Hyeon’ son. The king was full of praises to the surprise of KYS. The princess told the King that if it were not for him, she would be back safe and sound. She also asked for forgiveness from her father that she had been remiss of her duty of being Hwarang’s some sort of adviser or leader and so she declared that she is back to do her duty and stared at MS while saying them. She also requested the King to make Kim Yu Shin part of her Hwarang squad. The King agreed and had asked Kim Seo Hyeon’s clan and group to come to the Palace.

Anyway, the princes told the King what had happened and about BJ’s involvement in the whole thing. They met with Mi Shil and she told him that she saw that it was not the insurgents/refuges who were responsible for the massacre at he temple because she was there and witnessed the whole thing. When MS asked who was responsible then; CM asked her of Bo Jong’s whereabouts. MS was taken aback of CM’s interest on Bo Jong. MS told her that BJ was on an excursion. Then she asked CM again why was she was asking for BJ; CM told her that she thinks that she saw him in the temple.

Mi Shil asked her if she is insinuating that BJ was involved in the massacre in the temple. CM then told her that if she can make BJ appear before then after a day then it would just be a misunderstanding on her part.

Mi Shil was worried since during the confrontation, she still did not know where BJ was.

Later on, she was able to present BJ and CM was surprised to see him as she was so sure that she saw him being shot by an arrow. For now, Mi Shil got an upper hand but later it would be different when Deok Man comes into the picture.

The King was worried that her daughter is now openly challenging Mi Shil and asked the princess if she would continue to do so because she was destined to be the one to fight MS. He was afraid that the princess’ fate will be the same to her husband. The princess said that it can mean her death but she has decided to do everything in her power to challenge MS even if she is or not the destined one to do so.

SWR accompanied by a lot of soldiers came to the agreed place where they will meet JB and GD so they can get BJ. JB was quite curious as to why there were plenty of them and the reason was because MI Shil went with them. Deok Man was looking at them behind the bushes. She saw all of them and Mi Shil as well.

End of Episode 7

Every time I am reminded that there are 50 episodes for this series I get so frustrated. It is not because of wanting it to end immediately. It is more of wanting to see all the episodes at once. I love the twists and turns even if there are loopholes in the story. I wonder when will we get to see the adult versions of the younger characters. I hope they all be as cute as the younger ones. The only thing I wish for them to stop doing is making the some of characters shout so much. I just think it was done poorly. Too much of screaming is not good for the viewers hearing. It gets annoying most of the time. Other than that, I still love everything about Queen Seon Deok.
