My site is full of K-Pop recently..err…more like full of Tae Yang’s new album SOLAR. I apologize for not posting any recap or video links. Busy schedule plus crappy internet connection are my reasons and a tinge of laziness. I am still enjoying asian drama series but I can’t find the time to write about them. I never really thought that so much work is needed to maintain a blog site and I am thankful for those people who are still out there reading my crappy posts. It is a wonder where you get your patience to check my blog expecting to read something new, only to find out that there is nothing new. Thanks anyway.
To tell you honestly, I have only been watching korean dramas as I can’t find any other asian dramas worth watchng except for movies. It is hard though to find subttitles. I already gave up watching filipino dramas as they are shown every single day and are bombarded with commercials. I wish the filipino TV industry will be able to adapt the korean way of making drama series. I do not have problems with the storyline or acting but more on the editing as they are presented in such a way that commercial gaps can be shown in between scenes. I hate it. No fluidity and sometimes it just messes up the whole way of presenting the drama.
Anyway, some people emailed me and were asking some questions. The first one: What drama series am I watching right now?
I am so into Dong Yi right now as I do like the interaction between the King and Dong Yi. I find it so cute. It is quite unusual to see a King so bashful and the PD is just bent on making the viewers very happy by giving so much focus on the two. However, it is so tiring to download huge files for my Mom. She is so addicted to Dong Yi that when I give her an episode or two, she will be so flabbergasted that I do not have more. Demanding! If you have not tried it yet, better start now and have a great time watching a commoner make it big in the palace. Imagine a girl befriending the King without knowing his real identity. They met outside the Palace, she was trying to escape from the bad guys and he was helping her although he was totally confused the whole time.
Since, I had enough of NCIS, CSI and until now I just cannot not understand the reason for the hype about GLEE, I then immerse myself with other Korean dramas like Bad Guy. I enjoyed Kim Nam Gil’s presence and performance in Queen Seon Deok so naturally, I was interested with it. At first, I was trying not to second guess how the story will go but sometimes it was too predictable. Do not get me wrong, it is still good for me. I love the editing and the directing. The performances are decent but I am always hoping that it will surprise me in the end. I mean my sis and I will discuss it after every episode and say that it was too smooth. No revenge can be that too successful unless in the end, the writers will tell us that in every situation that Gun Wook (Kim Nam Gil’s character) planned, he had help from an insider. Too bad that there are so many rumors about it like KNG’s army enlistment and that they are killing him off soon. It is affecting the ratings but I am sticking with it til the end.
The third drama that I am watching is Baker King. I started out so late. I mean I am still at the 3rd episode and I am not sure if I am going to continue watching it. This is very much like when I started watching East of Eden. Dramaness galore although I must say that the situations are much lighter. I got into this because of “baking”. If this turn out to be too predictable then I will not watch it anymore.
The fourth drama on my list is Coffee House. I hated the title but I like the story and the characters. I am a fan of Park Shi Yeon after watching her in Family Outing. Even if she is not really for that kind of variety shows, I discovered that she can be as quirky as the next girl. Love her personality and I am glad that her character here is not the usual roles we see her in the past. It matches her face and her smiles. I love the chemistry between her and Kang Ji Hwan. I also love the storyline and how it was presented to the viewers differently. It was funny without getting silly and it was heartwarming without getting pathetic.
I think I need to make a part 2 of this post as it is getting long already and I still have a lot of things to say. I just need to cut it here…for now.
