My Girlfriend is a Gumiho

For those who is unfamiliar with the word Gumiho, it is the korean word for Nine Tailed Fox. I am looking forward in watching this korean drama series as it is about supernatural beings. I have enjoyed watching Kim Tae Hee several years ago in Gumiho but I guess this one is going to be romantic comedy.

for ADA gumiho

I learned that the writers are the Hong Sisters so it will be definitely interesting. I also want to see Lee Seungi in a comedy as I enjoy watching him in 2Days and 2Night. The girlfriend will be played by Shin Mina. Can’t wait!

Athena, Goddess Of War Will Be Shown at SBS

Athena, Goddess of War, a korean drama that is a spin-off from the successful KBS drama series IRIS will be shown not at KBS but at SBS. I am truly hoping this series will be as good as IRIS and that the cast is just as solid. I am doubting the last part because IRIS had a spectacular cast. But who knows, it may just surprise all of us.

Terrorist group Athena led by Son-Hyeok (Cha Seung Won) will create havoc in South Korea and the NTS led by Lee Jeong-Woo (Joo Woo Sung) will try to apprehend them. Su Ae will play Yun Hye-In who is a double agent will make the whole thing even more complicated and interesting.

Although, I am not liking the poster. It’s kinda looked forced. We already know that it is a spy series, no need to overdo it. Anyway, let us meet the cast:

athena

Jung Woo Sung (NTS Agent) and Su Ae (Double Agent)
JWS is more of a movie actor than a TV actor and that makes this so interesting. I saw him in Musa and in The Good, The Bad and the Weird. SA on the other hand is both visible on the big and the small screem. I saw her last in 2 outs in the 9th Inning and in the movie, Sword With No Name. They can both deliver great performances so from this angle, we won’t have any problem with the acting department.

Cha Seung Won (Athena Leader/Terrorist) and Lee Jia (NTS Agent)

CSW is also more known as a movie actor but he his recent work with Kim Sun Ah in City Hall made him even more popular with small screen viewers. LJ is a drama actress who I last saw in Style which I never had the patience to finish but appreciated her more in Legend with Bae Yong Joon.

athena

Kim Min Jong and Choi Siwon
KMJ, both a movie and TV actor who I will always remember in the drama series Return to Iljimae. Choi Siwon is a popular idol in Korea, being a member of Super Junior. I never thought he could act and I immensely enjoy his performance in Oh My Lady with Chaerim.

They are still filming and will be shown every Monday and Tuesday at 9:55 Korean time when Giant finishes off.

What Drama Am I Watching Right Now?

My site is full of K-Pop recently..err…more like full of Tae Yang’s new album SOLAR. I apologize for not posting any recap or video links. Busy schedule plus crappy internet connection are my reasons and a tinge of laziness. I am still enjoying asian drama series but I can’t find the time to write about them. I never really thought that so much work is needed to maintain a blog site and I am thankful for those people who are still out there reading my crappy posts. It is a wonder where you get your patience to check my blog  expecting to read something new,  only to find out that there is nothing new. Thanks anyway.

To tell you honestly, I have only been watching korean dramas as I can’t find any other asian dramas worth watchng except for movies. It is hard though to find subttitles. I already gave up watching filipino dramas as they are shown every single day and are bombarded with commercials. I wish the filipino TV industry will be able to adapt the korean way of making drama series. I do not have problems with the storyline or acting but more on the editing as they are presented in such a way that commercial gaps can be shown in between scenes. I hate it. No fluidity and sometimes it just messes up the whole way of presenting the drama.

Anyway, some people emailed me and were asking some questions. The first one:  What drama series am I watching right now?

I am so into Dong Yi right now as I do like the interaction between the King and Dong Yi. I find it so cute. It is quite unusual to see a King so bashful and the PD is just bent on making the viewers very happy by giving so much focus on the two. However, it is so tiring to download huge files for my Mom. She is so addicted to Dong Yi that when I give her an episode or two, she will be so flabbergasted that I do not have more. Demanding! If you have not tried it yet, better start now and have a great time watching a commoner make it big in the palace. Imagine a girl befriending the King without knowing his real identity. They met outside the Palace, she was trying to escape from the bad guys and he was helping her although he was totally confused the whole time.

Since, I had enough of  NCIS, CSI and until now I just cannot not understand the reason for the hype about GLEE, I then immerse myself with other Korean dramas like Bad Guy. I enjoyed Kim Nam Gil’s presence and performance in Queen Seon Deok so naturally, I was interested with it. At first, I was trying not to second guess how the story will go but sometimes it was too predictable. Do not get me wrong, it is still good for me. I love the editing and the directing. The performances are decent but I am always hoping that it will surprise me in the end. I mean my sis and I will discuss it after every episode and say that it was too smooth. No revenge can be that too successful unless in the end, the writers will tell us that in every situation that Gun Wook (Kim Nam Gil’s character) planned, he had help from an insider. Too bad that there are so many rumors about it like KNG’s army enlistment and that they are killing him off soon. It is affecting the ratings but I am sticking with it til the end.

The third drama that I am watching is Baker King. I started out so late. I mean I am still at the 3rd episode and I am not sure if I am going to continue watching it. This is very much like when I started watching East of Eden. Dramaness galore although I must say that the situations are much lighter. I got into this because of “baking”.  If this turn out to be too predictable then I will not watch it anymore.

The fourth drama on my list is Coffee House. I hated the title but I like the story and the characters. I am a fan of Park Shi Yeon after watching her in Family Outing. Even if she is not really for that kind of variety shows, I discovered that she can be as quirky as the next girl. Love her personality and I am glad that her character here is not the usual roles we see her in the past. It matches her face and her smiles. I love the chemistry between her and Kang Ji Hwan. I also love the storyline and how it was presented to the viewers differently. It was funny without getting silly and it was heartwarming without getting pathetic.

I think I need to make a part 2 of this post as it is getting long already and I still have a lot of things to say. I just need to cut it here…for now.

Tae Yang’s I Need A Girl Ver. 2 Is Out!

Everyone’s waiting for Tae Yang’s I Need A Girl music video version 2 and they just released it an hour ago.

It’s better. It’s hotter. It’s smexier.

Put Tae Yang with Dara Park along with  G-Dragon rapping and you are going to be glued on your screen. I bet you will be pushing the replay button over and over again.

WATCH THIS:

I Need A Girl MV BTS with Tae Yang, Dara and GD in

Fangirling mode each time I get updates on Tae Yang’s upcoming album, SOLAR. This time we get to see behind-the-scenes of the making of Tae Yang’s title track, I Need A Girl music video.

HOTNESS GALORE!

The guy is too sexy for words. Give him a gorgeous girl like Dara Park at his side and the screen is oozing with hot chemistry. Not only that, this MV just gave us a bonus of having Big Bang’s frontman, G-Dragon and every YG Family fan are getting crazy as they all count the minutes until D-Day, me included.

I thank each day that YG CEO along with Tae Yang and Teddy decided to make I Need A Girl its title track so we can all see a collaboration between GD and Tae Yang. You can feel the YG family love especially with Dara of 2NE1 making a guest appearance for the official Music Video. Every shipper out there of whatever team it may be probably are so excited about the outcome of the video. If you are not aware of what a shipper means, it basically refers to a fan of one reel or real couple. Most of the time, they are just for reel but who knows, a fan’s wish may just come true. Delusional much, eh?

Here’s the BTS of I Need A Girl:

Been watching this over and over…and over…and over…What’s my ship you ask? If you have been looking at my headers in the past, you should know. Thanks D for making me a fangirl!

Hint: I already knew who Dara was referring to when she was showing the Best Boyfriend trophy in her M2day update. Anyeong!

Gosh, I never thought that I will fangirling this much with K-Pop.
